Congratulations you are Engaged!!! The Flowers!!

Let's Talk About Your Flowers...

Do you want your flowers to create a simple, or a chic, or a rustic, or romantic, or a classic feeling. What is your favorite flower? What do your wedding flowers symbolize? What colors do you like? What flowers are best for Winter, Spring, Summer, Or Fall weddings? Is it Okay to think outside the box?  Is it alright to just have greenery? What will my flowers cost?

The list goes on and on...

There is a lot of information out there, and everyone has an opinion from Pinterest to old school magazines. It can be a bit overwhelming and cause your thoughts of wedding flowers to run a muck!
Lets start by making some good decisions...
Establish your flower style. What are your Floral needs, a bouquet, centerpieces, boutonnieres? What is your budget? Get recommendations. Set up a time to chat. Any florist worth their weight in flowers will reign you in and help you stay on track. It is very important to clearly communicate with the florist YOUR vision for YOUR wedding day. This will help ensure that you have the wedding flowers you have always dreamed of. It is also important to use the right words and share with your florist your thoughts so everyone is on the same page. Adding flowers to your wedding is the icing on the cake. Your flowers will set the tone of your wedding by creating a beautiful atmosphere.
 Flowers bring everything to life...

Did you know that different flowers have different meanings...
Take roses for example, they have different meanings for different colors. A red rose stands for Passion, a orange rose is Enthusiastic, a white rose means Purity, A pink one represents Joy...
I am a sucker for David Austin  English roses...

What flowers do you love???

A little bit of History...

In Ancient Rome, brides carried or wore flower garlands, believing that flowers signify new beginnings, fidelity and hope of fertility. In the Middle Ages, strong-smelling herbs and spices were thought to ward off and drive away evil spirits, bad luck, ill health and help mask the smell of body odor.

The history of the boutonniere dates back to the 16th century. "Boutonniere" is a French word meaning "Buttonhole Flower"
it was first meant to keep evil away.

In Queen Victoria's day. Victoria had an attention for detail and lavish staging, especially flower symbolism. She heaped her ceremony with cut and blooming flowers, and wore a crown of orange blossoms (a symbol of chastity) in her hair, sparking a craze for bridal flower crowns.

Tossing the bouquet is a tradition that stems from England. Women used to try to rip pieces of the bride's dress and flowers in order to obtain some of her good luck. To escape from the crowd the bride would toss her bouquet and run away.

Flower Quotes...

I must have flowers always and always... Claude Monet
Flowers are the music of the earth... Marty Rubin
She is like a wildflower beautiful, fierce, and free...
Flowers are loves truest language... Park Benjamin
Let your joy burst forth like flowers in the spring...

And my favorite flower quote...
If I had a Flower for every time I thought of you I could walk in my garden forever... Alfred Lord Tennyson

There is an endless array of  beautiful flowers springing anew everyday from Gods earthly gardens... Nancy Kruse

For each and every feeling you want to express on your wedding day, there is flower out there for you to make your day special...

It never rains in Southern California, or does it...

Lets talk about the weather...

Since we here, in Lovely Sunny Southern California are experiencing a much wetter season than normal. We have decided to do a little post on rainy day weddings. I am sure it has crossed your mind once or twice. Especially those of you who are getting married in the next few months...

What do we do in case it rains?

You don’t have to let bad weather put a damper on your big day. Actually rain is suppose to be a blessing for the bride and groom. Instead of worrying about something that is completely out of your control, find out how to use the rain to make your day incredible!  Get together with your coordinator and create a back up plan in advance! A good Coordinator will have already been in contact with your venue to find out what their plan of action is for rainy days. Don't wait until the night before. We tell our couples to start watching the extended weather about 2 weeks out from your wedding date. If the weather is changing then put your backup plan into action.

Making the Most of your Rainy Day Wedding!!

Congratulations you are engaged!!! The DJ...

Let's talk about your DJ...

Your DJ is one of your most important vendors. They can make your break your wedding/reception!!
Your DJ is going to help set the tone of the evening. That means that your DJ's style and personality needs to match what you are wanting for yourselves and your guests. One thing we suggest is to meet with your DJ in person to go over your vibe, music styles and your needs/wants. If you can't meet in person at least try to facetime and/or chat on the phone with them. You want to ensure that they have the right style and personality not only to match you and your fiancĂ©, but to also manage your reception. That they can keep the flow of the evening running smoothly and that they are also a good MC. A good DJ usually provides service for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for up to 5 to 6 hours. Dance Lighting and wireless mic's for your wedding ceremony and reception. They are they there to ensure everyone has a good time.

Once you find the right DJ you want to make sure that they can announce, communicate and articulate. Not only to your guests but also to your other vendors, especially with your coordinator. It’s also important that your DJ announces and makes sure that the right people are there with you to witness the special moments like cake cutting, first dance, bouquet toss etc...

Making your ceremony, cocktail hour & reception a success!!

Your making your Grand Entrance and you hear the DJ announce for the first time

LETS WELCOME...  MR & MRS...

When it's time to have that First Dance with your Newly Married Sweetheart
and your DJ plays that special song that is so meaningful to you both...

A flood of memories come waltzing in as your Dad scoops you up in his arms with tears in his eyes for that special moment called the Father Daughter Dance...

or it's time for you and your guests to get your groove on, to celebrate and dance the night away...

Its all about creating a positive experience for you an your guest to help create memories that will last a lifetime. When you flip on the radio and hear that special song it will transport you back to your wedding when you danced the night away to the music that was played by your incredible DJ...

Whatever your style, be true to yourself and what you envision for your wedding day...

What type of planner will you be needing?? You have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing a planner/coordinator. First off you will need to ask yourself a few questions. Do we want someone to step in and take care of everything from beginning to end? That would require a full service planner. This type of planner would help with your budget, finding a venue, attend your meetings, site visits and walk-through with the venue coordinators. Help manage your guest list if needed, manage and plan your timeline, event design, table and layouts. Will stay on site the entire day'  Full Planners are with you every step of the way. They are your month out and Day of Coordinator all rolled into one.

Lets talk about the month out planner. This person would come on board after you have chosen your venue and your vendors.(will provide referrals if still needed.) The month of Coordinator is there to tie up all the loose ends. Act as a Liaison between you and the venue. Coordinate your vendors arrival times. Create a your wedding time line. Conduct your rehearsal. Provide all your day of coordination needs.

Lets talk about your Day of Coordinator. This person will be there for your wedding day and will work along side with the venue staff to get to the job done to make your day is complete. They will put out personal belongings, manage your timeline, and guide all your vendors. Coordinate with your DJ, officiant and bridal party to make sure your ceremony goes off without a hitch. Handle any emergencies that may arise. Remain easily accessible to the couple throughout the entire day.

We have touched on just a few things that Planners/coordinators will provide with their services. There is so much more! If you would like to know more about what planners can and will provide for you, please reach out to us anytime. It is our desire as planners, stylist, and designers to serve you and help you create the wedding of your dreams.

Congratulations your engaged!! The Photographer...

Lets talk about your photographer...

How do you choose??

In a market that is extremely saturated, choosing a photographer can seem a bit overwhelming to say the least. Let's face it the day is going to go by so quickly and you will want your photographer to be able to capture the beauty, details, and raw emotion from your day. Here at Bridal Entourage we have the extreme pleasure to work with some of the best in the business. We would like to take the next few moments to introduce you to them...

A few words and inspiration from Ali owner of

Golden Arrow Photography

I believe every love story is unique and it deserves to be captured that way. I’m continually inspired by my couples. I want your images to be a family heirloom you cherish for years to come. I want our time together to be memorable and for you to walk away feeling like, maybe, just maybe, being in front of the camera isn’t so bad.

Truth be told, I fall in love with every love story I’ve captured. I make it my job to get to know my couples, so that I am able to authentically capture your day. I aim to find balance in capturing the candid moments as well as the beautifully posed images that float around social media.
I know that even though this is such an exciting time in your life, it can also be incredibly overwhelming. I hold my client relationships closest to my heart. I take your vision, dreams and enthusiasm as seriously as if it were my own.

To sum my photography style, it is authentic, timeless and natural with fun added into the mix.
I strive for my images to be a unique blend of art and photojournalism, I want them to be a modern but timeless, and above all look natural. Honestly, I love photographing weddings and thrive on the excitement, emotion and enjoyment of the day. I am always looking for the golden light, using dramatic lines, maybe contrasting backgrounds or even how I can include movement in a photo or two. I am spontaneous. A wedding day is a celebration so let’s have some fun taking photos!

A few words and inspiration from Amy owner of

I photograph couples looking for imagery showing the essence of their love going beyond just smiling poses (although we get lots of those too!). I love to see the beauty in friends and family coming together to celebrate love, and I watch for those special moments while the vows are read, or when the parents gaze tenderly at their child.

I photograph authentic couples in love, who yearn for the connection of heart reaching, yet timeless images. I truly believe that the happiest day of your life deserves to be beautifully and elegantly captured. Whether big or small, every detail in a wedding story is important. Through my images, couples are able to relive the groom’s emotional reaction, the radiant laugh between bridesmaids and the beauty of a father gazing tenderly at his daughter- reminding us all what true love really looks like. Let’s intimately capture the joy of your wedding day. I would be honored to be by your side.
